All Healthy and Safe

It is not outdated to dream, and neither is it illegal to. However, some dreams are so audacious, you wonder if induced by some renowned chemical substance. WellState is borne of such an audacious dream – no chemicals of course. There is nothing new under the sun the good book says, so as has happened before, it is not impossible for our audacious dream to become real.

Our dream is one of a Healthy and Safe Nigeria to bequeath to our offspring, a nation with new norms, new values and a reinvented direction. This is a possibility, and we intend to do all we can to make this happen.

What’s it with Health and Safety you might wonder. Isn’t it just some nicety? Should we be bothered with this when there is so much else lacking in Nigeria? The answer is an emphatic YES. Health and Safety encompasses the entire well-being of the nation. For us to evolve, this area of refinement has to evolve. The push for an evolved Nigeria has to come on different fronts. While some other team mates in progress are pushing on the front of proper governance, we push on this front of a Healthy and Safe nation. When our environment exudes well-being, when our masses have the hope of a healthy life, then our energies will be all the more harnessed to developmental change.

We look forward to a nation that will be a model home for our offspring; we anticipate this no matter how impossible it seems now. It might not look very useful now, but we can get ready for the Nigeria we want, and to do this, if we really expect any change, we have to start laying blocks for the right buildings, blocks to raise proper institutions, no matter how invisible they are right now. If we want to wait till things get right, nothing might ever get done, as our current actions are the very things that will engender the change.

WellState looks to affect Nigeria in the area of Health practices and Environmental Safety. This area needs to be fixed if we are to progress from developing nation to the next level. We need to tackle hard unsafe practices which are commonplace in the Nigerian society, practices like throwing items out the window of moving vehicles (why is that normal)? We want to tell the society that it is proper to be some other way, and not the default way. We want to change the mentality where folks who do not want to toss stuff on the ground are looked upon with perplexity – using simple, basic examples. Some things are so deeply ingrained in the minds of Nigerians, it requires massive reorientation to change.

We will be a social voice, we will give orientation at the grass-roots, we will push for policy formation and change, we will push for cultural change.

On this blog, expect to see discourse on Healthy Living, Safe and Unsafe practices, Health Innovations.

Toast to a Healthy and Safe nation!
